Finally saw Miller’s Crossing last night. What a movie! I also learned it was based on a Dashiell Hammett book – the same that inspired Kurosawa‘s Yojimbo, which incidentally means that Last Man Standing is, in fact, the second prohibition-era movie based on the same material.

Crank 3
I would probably watch this.

Nuts. Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne, has died as a result of coronavirus complications. Fountains of Wayne was the soundtrack to my life for close to a decade. He also made a lot of wonderful music outside the band, too, including the title track for That Thing You Do!, but the wry, everyday observations Fountains of Wayne excelled at often hit the sweet spot for the aimless, floundering me.

Top o’ the world, ma!

My brief, yet considered review of Frozen II: I enjoyed it.

Each Christmas I’m reminded how lousy I am at gift wrapping, despite having worked in retail in my younger days. Embarrassed and infuriating, though I suppose the customers had bigger reason to complain.

Finally installed in the new house. This kids have been antsy for a few days, but are finding their feet. Today they didn’t wake up before 8, and we’ve slathered every surface in Christmas lights. I feel like I can breathe easy (well, easier) again.
